30 days and counting.....

On October 24-26, thousands of women and men will unite and walk 60 miles through the Atlanta community. The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.

Every advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has been touched by a Komen for the Cure grant. They are working hard to build a future without breast cancer, and I plan on raising $2200 to help bring us closer to that goal. In order to reach my goal, I am asking for your help. Please consider making a donation of just $25. If you can’t give this amount all at once, you can spread it out over four months, using the payment plan option, if you donate online at http://www.the3day.org/goto/AngieLindley. Please also ask your employer if they will double your donation with a matching gift. Remember, all donations are tax deductible!

Unfortunately, breast cancer has become an all too common occurrence among women and men throughout the world. Now is the time to take action to help end this disease. The more funds that I raise, the sooner we can end this fight. More information about the Breast Cancer 3-Day can be found at http://www.the3day.org or by calling 800.996.3DAY; I can be reached at 770-252-6898. My personal donation page may also be found on-line at the following link: http://www.the3day.org/goto/AngieLindley.

By supporting me in the Breast Cancer 3-Day, you will ultimately help put an end to breast cancer. Without a cure, one in eight women in the U.S. will continue to be diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s why I’m walking in the 3-Day. Because everyone deserves a lifetime.

Where has the time gone???

It seems as though it has just disappeared! Sadly, I am not so good at keeping up this blog. I have good intentions...really I do. It just seems as though when I think of something to post, I'm not near my computer, and when I am near my computer, the thoughts don't come! It's a vicious cycle!

School started for us on August 6. This was a big day in my house as ALL 3 of my girls started school full time. Emma is in 3rd grade this year. She was not ready for her summer to end, but has since decided that "school is the best." Audrey is in Kindergarten and Amy is in Pre-K. The school year is off to a great start!!

I've started my training for the Breast Cancer 3Day. I've been going for walks through my neighborhood. My plan is to at least walk for 2 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the walk. I walked for 3 hours one day this week and plan to do at least that tomorrow (if not more!). I have really enjoyed my training thus far. The weather has been so nice. I've been playing my "I heart God" play list on my Ipod and have spent my walks with my Saviour. My soul rests as I walk for this great cause! I know that this will be a life-altering occasion for me. I have under 50 days to go until the walk.....I still have quite a bit of fundraising to go, but I trust that the Lord will take care of that for me. If you haven't already, please consider donating to this event. If you can't donate, please lift up myself and my fellow walkers in prayer.

It's hard to believe we are well into the month of September.....the Holidays are right around the corner. I know the season will only get busier, but I will do my best to be a better blogger!!
